Arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, welcome by your guide and driver, then transfer to the hotel for check-in.
Luang Prabang is the former royal capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. This city leaves no one indifferent. In this melting pot of peoples and cultures, there’s a surprise around every corner: pastel houses, pagodas, and sumptuous palaces. You will be charmed by its historical and religious past, which gives it such a unique atmosphere. Free time to soak in the ambiance of the peninsula.
At the end of the day, you will go down to the Mekong by boat for a sunset aperitif.

Recommendation: Early in the morning, before breakfast, witness the alms giving ceremony of the monks. In long, silent lines, they walk through the old town to receive offerings from the locals. A unique moment. Continue the experience with an immersion in the morning market and its surprising products.
After breakfast, set out to explore the iconic monuments of Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang can’t be told, it must be felt. With its 30 temples and more than 1,000 monks, the city radiates an atmosphere of total serenity. Here, daily life moves to the rhythm of bells and prayers.

At the end of the day, Mount Phousi, accessible by its 300 steps, is the perfect spot to enjoy a stunning sunset over the city and the Mekong. As you come back down the stairs on the “Royal Palace” side, you’ll come across the Luang Prabang night market, a true treasure trove of original local crafts for unique souvenirs.

After breakfast, you will visit the "Buffalo Dairy" buffalo farm, a social enterprise whose mission is to improve the health and living conditions of water buffaloes and, at the same time, help farmers in the region.
Next, it will be time to relax at Kuang Si Falls, about 30 kilometers from the city.
Once there, don’t hesitate to visit the permanent exhibition that explains the various actions taken to protect the last Asian Black Bears. It’s an excellent way for schoolchildren to learn about the protection of Asia’s often-threatened biodiversity.

Return to town. On the way, you will visit the Ock Pop Tok Centre, a social enterprise that preserves traditional Lao craftsmanship. Several collections have been created — some more contemporary, but always using ancestral techniques. Tour of the center and its various workshops.

After breakfast, transfer to Luang Prabang train station for your departure to Oudomxay.
Arrival in Oudomxay, a major commercial hub of the region that links Laos to China. Welcome by your driver, then visit Mount Phou That overlooking the town and the modern market, a sign of the strong Chinese community presence.

After breakfast, depart for the day by 4x4 to meet Khamu, Hmong, and Akha villages — three typical communities of Laos. The track you’ll take is stunning and offers an incredible climb up to 1,000m, where you’ll have a unique and memorable viewpoint. You will first visit the Khamu village, then continue to the Hmong village of Ban Pangcor.
Your guide, together with this ethnic group originally from the high steppes of Tibet, will introduce you to their customs, the important role animals — pigs, buffaloes, etc. — play in their way of life, and the care they provide them.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a magnificent viewpoint. You will then visit the very beautiful Akha village, completely isolated. This community, originally from Yunnan and Tibet, has remained extremely traditional.
At the end of the day, transfer directly to Oudomxay train station for your departure to Vang Vieng.

After breakfast, departure for Vientiane via the new highway (about a 2-hour drive).
Vientiane has none of the frenzy of Southeast Asia’s bustling capitals. It’s a provincial capital, a “big village” of 700,000 inhabitants on the banks of the Mekong, perfect for an evening stroll. On the agenda: colonial houses with old-world charm, a mix of Chinese architecture, gleaming Buddhist temples, and lively markets all day long.
Next, set out to visit the city’s main sites.
You will start with Wat Sisaket, the oldest monastery in the city, and Ho Phra Kéo, a royal temple converted into a museum that once housed the Emerald Buddha (now in Bangkok). Continue to That Luang, the most imposing reliquary in Laos with its 45m-high stupa. Finally, a stop will be made at Patuxai (our Arc de Triomphe).
6:00 PM: Pick-up by a local friend for a Lao dinner. Head to a popular night market where Vientiane locals go to get their dinner. Explore the stalls and discover a flavorful and surprising traditional cuisine.

After breakfast, departure from your accommodation in Vientiane. Arrival at the village of Ban Hatkhai around 9:30 AM, where a local guide awaits us after preparing the picnic. A 7 km drive on dirt tracks through the forest separates us from the start of the trek.
The Orchid Trek begins at Pha Say waterfall, with its impressive viewpoint over a gorge more than 50m high and its dense jungle. Around the viewpoint, Bulbophyllum, Panisea, Coelogyne, and Dendrobium orchids are already present on the trees and rocks. The walk continues along small shaded trails where you pass through different types of forest: semi-deciduous, jungle, bamboo — allowing you to observe various biotopes. Don’t be surprised by the abundance of orchids in some spots; all the rocks and certain trees are covered in them! Some biotopes are extraordinary. You will also have the opportunity to learn a lot about medicinal plants and other plant families such as: rattans, gingers, dipterocarps… and their various uses.
The picnic will be enjoyed in the bed of a river that runs dry part of the year, in the shade of the trees, or at Tad Say waterfall.
The afternoon ends with a pleasant swim in a unique setting at Tad Say waterfall before returning to the village.
Return to Vientiane in the late afternoon.

Takeaway breakfast, then transfer to Wattay Airport for your flight to Pakse.
Arrival in Pakse, where you will be welcomed by your French-speaking guide, a specialist in southern Laos, then depart for a journey through the 4,000 Islands.
You’ll travel by vehicle to the pier located across from Done Khong Island, where your boat awaits. After about an hour and a half. Discover Done Khone by bicycle or Tuk-Tuk, along with what remains of the old railway — a legacy of the colonial era. Continue to the Liphi Falls.

After breakfast, you will board a pirogue and head to Ban Nakasang where your driver will be waiting for you. On the way, you will visit Khone Phapheng Falls — this is where the monotony of the Mekong breaks, with drops of more than 14 meters high. They are actually the largest waterfalls in Southeast Asia, the “Niagara Falls” of the region.
Transfer to Champasak. Check in to your room on the banks of the Mekong.
Free time to visit the small village of Champasak, where the many colonial-era houses — often left in ruins — still give off a very distinct Indochinese atmosphere.

After breakfast, transfer to the archaeological site of Wat Phou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This sanctuary of the Chenla Kingdom, whose earliest structures date back to the 5th–6th century, is one of the oldest examples of pre-Angkorian Khmer architecture. Although more modest than the Angkor complexes, its location at the foot of the sacred mountain Lingaparvata gives it a unique spiritual dimension. Originally dedicated to Shiva, the site was gradually converted to Theravada Buddhism around the 13th century. The on-site museum displays the archaeological artifacts unearthed before the ascent to the upper sanctuaries.
In the immediate vicinity, the prasat of Ho Nang Sida, dated to the early 12th century during the reign of Suryavarman II, is currently undergoing a consolidation program.

This afternoon you will board your boat for a cruise along the Mekong to discover the temples of Wat Muang Kang, one of the oldest still-active temples in the region, which houses a library. Then, you will visit Wat Luang Kao temple, not far from the old Bassac church dating from the 19th century.

Breakfast, free day to enjoy the hotel surroundings without a guide or vehicle.
Recommendation: Done Daeng Island, across from Champasak, is a place to discover bucolic landscapes and scenes of life that seem “outside of time.” Three marked trails will let you wander the island’s dirt paths, passing through small villages with wooden houses and rice granaries, going by schools where children won’t fail to greet you. The island also has a few temples you can visit.
